A beautiful restaurant! Ambiance, great customer service, and delicious food! Jacob was an outstanding host/waiter. The food was full of flavor! The chicken & catfish was hot & juicy on the inside.
The food here was great! There was a glitch with the dough rising for my biscuit, which was sorely disappointing since I've seen so many reviews saying how good they are. We travel here often for family, so perhaps we'll give it another go when we're back in town at some point. Otherwise, the chicken was great, as were the other dishes per the rest of our guests.
Been over four years since I have been in the area and Cottons was always a great spot. Small group of four of us. Easy parking across the street and we were seated immediately. Decent beer menu but no stouts but the has Shiner so it was on. Three of us had the item pictured. We thought it was going to be more of platter and weee surprised when it came in a bowl. The initial disappointment was quickly erased after we took our first bite. Amazing. We had the biscuits which were not as good as I remembered. More hockey pucks with whipped butter and a seasonal jam. The butter and jam weee delicious. We also had deviled eggs and they phenomenal. I was distant the menu was much smaller than I remembered but what was on there seemed to be very good. Great service easy parking and good solid food.
Nice and stylish establishment. Staff is friendly and professional. The food is well balanced in flavor with excellent take on traditional recipes. Had the cane and leaf salad one evening, went back the next day and had the pork chop and bean. Noticed other patrons dressed up, celebrating special occasions.
I had the pleasure of visiting Cotton Restaurant in Monroe, Louisiana, after a long day of traveling from New Orleans. This cute, quaint spot is tucked away in a nice, quiet neighborhood, and the atmosphere is charming. The hospitality was wonderful, and I appreciated the thoughtful details on the walls. The deviled eggs were absolutely amazing! Easily my favorite part of the meal! I also had the redfish, which was really good. I think there was a shift change, so the service took a bit longer than expected, but it wasn't too bad, and everyone treated me with kindness. Overall, I would definitely return to Cotton. The food was delicious, and the experience was worth it!
I came to cotton on a Monday around 7:30 for my first time, host greeted us and showed us a table for 2 even gave us our wand the place had a few tables occupied but not busy. Our waiter was Michael who gave great service and for our first time he was able to give us more description of the entree items. I had the pond and the gulf which was great but a bit salty in my tasting but wasn't overpowering. I subbed out the grits for Brussels sprouts which was no problem. Our margaritas were good just a small glass. My friend had the deer camp meatloaf which I tasted and was amazing! And we shared the duck fries and they were a bit too seasoned which why we dumped it out on a plate but rather have seasoning then no seasoning! Also, the manager let us go upstairs to see the dining area which was more amazing wish we could have sat upstairs! The same week on a Friday 4:30pm I came alone for a second time and was greeted by Micheal and I sat at the bar since there was no one really in at the time. I had the gas station fried chicken subbed the corn for Brussels sprouts and another margarita in a taller glass made by Bishop who gave such great service and is great bartender! I had to tell Bishop that the chef did an amazing job on my food. CHEFS KISS!
We were very impressed with the quality and service we received at Cotton. Since we have allergy restrictions, Chef Deegan (sorry if I misspelled his name) was able to cater to our food issues. He was so patient and he cooked the food to our requests. The restaurant itself is so unique. Our waitress at the Bar was fantastic.
This restaurant is beautiful, the service was good the first time but the second time was excellent. I had the meatloaf with the Brussels sprouts and it was delicious, the chicken sandwich was tender just perfect and the crawfish pasta was excellent and so were the red beans and rice. The grits were just ok but overall everything was good.
I'm so happy I visited Cotton while in Monroe! Cotton is off of a busy road, though there was a parking lot and some street parking nearby, and luckily it wasn't a busy day in the area so it was easy to find a spot. I love the decor, with a nice modern feel in a historic building. Everything felt warm and inviting, and upscale but still inviting if you stop in dressed casually. The host who greeted me at the door was super friendly, and so was the bartender. They had a small list on tap and a good wine and drink selection. I ordered the deer camp meatloaf for dinner, which was absolutely delicious. The sweetness of the glaze, creaminess of the grits, and crispy brussel sprouts were amazing together. They change the menu often it seems, so this entree may not always be available, but based on this experience I'm sure everything is delicious! The bartender was great and would check in often. If I'm ever back in Monroe, I will definitely be visiting Cotton again!
I have no idea where to begin but I will just say this, when a skilled Chef gets his or her hands on quality raw ingredients, something magical happens. This was one of the rare occasions that I had to pause after every bite and just appreciate the mastery that created this symphony of flavors. The Duck rolls were perfectly seasoned slices of duck breast filled with a mixture of cream cheese, diced jalapeno peppers and wrapped in bacon, and then baked until golden brown. To add another layer of flavor to this insane dish, it was drizzled with local honey! Five stars. The homemade biscuits?! What can I say, they were as good as anything I have ever eaten, even from my mother's kitchen who was a fantastic cook, but these gorgeous pieces of heaven were beyond delicious. Flaky, moist, delicate and complimented by a flight of jellies and old-fashioned syrup. Five freaking stars! The Deer Camp Meatloaf was a slice of meatloaf resting on a bed of mashed potatos and topped with a ridiculous pile of slow-roasted, balsamic vinegar-infused Brussels sprouts, again I am not usually a fan of this veggie but damn they were good! Five flipping stars. The catfish and cheese grits were delicious as well. Not really a grits type of person, but there were part of meal, they were the only "stumble" of this epic meal. 4.5 stars. The Fried pork chop and red beans and rice was exceptional! These red beans and rice were cooked to perfection and the pork chop was thin, juicy and the breading was just enough to cover the tender chop. Easily the best meal I have had in years! Well done, Cotton. Oh! The ambiance is classy and calming tunes play as you eat and take in all the amazing art work on the walls and natural wood floors and exposed brick walls. The customer service was perfect as well!! This meal checked all the boxes. If you are ever in the Monroe area, you must stop in for an experience you will not soon forget. DO NOT FORGET DESSERT!! I am all out of adjectives, but WOW!! So freaking.. Outstanding.
